Doron Farber is the founder and Senior Developer of The Farber Consulting Group Inc., Inc., a custom software and database consulting firm established in 1992. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA in Management Information Systems. Doron began developing custom software in 1985 using dBase III and later worked extensively with FoxBase, FoxPro, and Visual FoxPro before moving into .NET and Alpha Anywhere. Prior to founding The Farber Consulting Group Inc., he served as Director of IT at a New York architecture and engineering firm, where he built software piloted across Columbia University's campuses and helped the firm win a City of New York contract. Under his leadership, The Farber Consulting Group Inc. has spent more than 30 years helping manufacturers, distributors, and service companies modernize business-critical applications. The firm's expertise includes business application modernization, custom business application development, AI-assisted reverse engineering, MS Access conversion, Visual FoxPro modernization, COBOL and mainframe migration, cloud application conversion, database modernization, and AI integration. When legacy applications are poorly documented or the original developers are no longer available, the firm uses AI-assisted reverse engineering during discovery to identify business rules, workflows, algorithms, calculations, database relationships, and application logic. The firm also develops and modernizes ERP and CRM applications, provides AI-powered natural-language reporting, and offers remote DBA services for SQL Server and MySQL. Notable engagements include Johnson & Johnson, Dassault, Avis Car Rental, and iA American Warranty Group.
